before jeffrey proposed (a year ago today :) ), we were, not-so-coincidentally, reading a ton of stories
that displayed God's control over the womb according to His perfectly, perfect will.
When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
- Gen. 29:31
Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.
-Gen. 30:22
But to Hannah he gave a double portion, because he loved her, though the LORD had closed her womb.
- 1 Sam. 1:5
And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son.
- 1 Sam 1:19-20
after jeffrey proposed, making babies was obviously a thought/concern/joy.
"What will people think if we get pregnant the very first time (haha... hey its happened people!)?... They will think that's why we're getting married so fast (we had a six week engagement)." -me
after soooo so so so much prayer, God, individually, asked us to trust Him like crazy
with this specific area of our life. so for us, that meant no contraceptives... whatsoever.
+ emphasis on us because i know He has distinct plans and purposes for each of His children.
(scary! especially when a lady walked into LifeWay with like six kids and pregnant! no joke. but now i see that He knows me even better than i know myself because
i can probably argue that i've had waves of baby fever for 23 years now.)
right after they diagnosed my miscarriage,
they asked if we ever used birth control because that could have been the cause.
i was able to boldly and confidently say no.
God was and is so faithful in our obedience!
>>unashamedly chiseled.
